So that's what kinari looks like! I've ordered a dress, and the color was in kanji [chinese characters]. When I tried to translate it, I got 'generation', and when I sent my order to the shop, they wrote 'kinari' in the invoice, so it probably has no translation. Now generation has nothing to do with colors, but I guess we can translate it as 'old white'? 'Aged white'? It looks similar to 'antique white', but I think antique white is a bit more yellow-ish.

Fan-damn-tastic! What an excellent idea. I love the thought of designing around an element like your buttons (or our old stitch challenges! The linen stitch has resurfaced yet again - clearly it's not done with me yet!) I love the Kinari cardigan idea - I think it will be so elegant & classy. And I love the use of your dad's buttons and how the design is built around them. As always, the details on your thoughts and process are inspiring!

Ruth,
Very impressed with the Kinari concept. I love the triangle stitch and the way it echoes the button design, as well as the placement of the buttons. You do love Habu, don't you?

That looks lovely! I like the look of the white yarn and am curious to see the buttons on it once it is done!

Your sweater will be wonderful! It's off to a good start - love the buttons. If you want to make the button thingies red, but you are worried about the red bleeding - just wash the red yarn a jillion times before you knit it. It won't take much yarn, it won't be a big job. You are smart to be concerned, though. I can't wait to see the finished sweater!
