I've ordered a dress, and the color was in kanji [chinese characters]. When I tried to translate it, I got 'generation', and when I sent my order to the shop, they wrote 'kinari' in the invoice, so it probably has no translation. Now generation has nothing to do with colors, but I guess we can translate it as 'old white'? 'Aged white'? It looks similar to 'antique white', but I think antique white is a bit more yellow-ish.So that’s what kinari looks like! I’ve ordered a dress, and the color was in kanji [chinese characters]. I love the thought of designing around an element like your buttons (or our old stitch challenges! The linen stitch has resurfaced yet again - clearly it's not done with me yet!) I love the Kinari cardigan idea - I think it will be so elegant & classy. And I love the use of your dad's buttons and how the design is built around them. As always, the details on your thoughts and process are inspiring!Fan-damn-tastic! What an excellent idea. Very impressed with the Kinari concept. I love the triangle stitch and the way it echoes the button design, as well as the placement of the buttons. You do love Habu, don't you?Ruth,

It's off to a good start - love the buttons. If you want to make the button thingies red, but you are worried about the red bleeding - just wash the red yarn a jillion times before you knit it. It won't take much yarn, it won't be a big job. You are smart to be concerned, though. I can't wait to see the finished sweater!Your sweater will be wonderful!
