okay ... I'm not feeling real bright here. After realizing that the first part of the pattern is knitted flat .... the directions for the ribbing work out just fine.

However ... when the heel flap is set up, the center 2 stitches are put on a holder .... and never heard from again. The instructions just say to 'sew seam' .... does that mean that you simply include these 2 stitches in that seam? It would have been nice, even for an experienced knitter, to have these 2 stitches specifically handled rather than just left dangling.

I'd love to make these .... but when I follow the directions for the first five rows, it does not result in the ribbing which is obvious in the picture of these adorable socks. I need some clarification of the pattern, I guess.

Wow Ruth, the baby socks are adorable. I love the idea of hugs and kisses, and making socks rather than booties. The banana angle is an extra amusing bonus. :-)

It does rather resemble a banana, which is too funny. Very cute baby socks and thank you for the pattern too.
