Free Pattern: Tokyo

I got the Tokyo pattern written up over the weekend, so I offer it to you for your knitting pleasure.

You can do a direct PDF download (2.4 MB) via this link or visit the Designs page at your leisure and follow the link there.

Or, if you’re a Ravelry user, you can download the pattern and add it to your library here. I find it both exciting and somewhat alarming that more than fifty Ravelers have downloaded the pattern since I posted it after lunch today. Yowza!

Since I have one skein of Tokyo and a fair amount of Zephyr left over from this project that I’m unlikely to use, I’m going to give it away. If you’d like my cast-off Tokyo and Jaggerspun Zephyr, of which there is quite a lot but not necessarily enough to make a Tokyo top, leave a comment saying why. I’ll draw a name on Wednesday to determine the lucky winner.

Why, you ask? Um…free yarn? :)

Actually, I’m interested in knitting this top for myself–and I really love the colors you chose for your own.

Never been here before - I just dropped in to you to thank you for Sheldon, which I just finished knitting. I loved knitting it. Actually, I am very glad I stopped by -Tokyo is also quite cool, and I am on my way to download it now.

I don’t want the free yarn on offer, though, so you can leave my name out of the drawing (best increase the odds for those who really want it!)

Is “because I love those colors and I can’t really afford to buy new yarn right now” a good enough reason? ;) I’m excited to add the Tokyo Top to my Ravelry library!

I’ve got too many things on deck for more yarn at the moment - but just wanted to give a big “Hurray!!!” on the Tokyo Top pattern!

    HURRAY!!!

Thanks for the pattern and offering the remaining yarn!

My reason is that my stash bin is talking to me wanting “food”! :o)

Yay! Thanks for the pattern - I’ve queued it :)

I would love your extra yarn because… the colors remind of dappled sun/shade on a rippling brook.

That’s a lovely pattern - thank you so much for sharing it!

I’d love a chance to win the yarn because I think the colours would be perfect for my brother’s fiancee (and I think I could come up with something nice to make for her).

Thanks for the beautiful pattern! I’d love a chance at the yarn because I am currently a poor, poor student teacher. :D

I’m a person with a short torso, so I actually think the leftover yarn would be plenty for a version of my own! I love love love love love love love your tokyo top, dude. Yarn, color, shape, fit. It’s all good.

Oh, yes. I would love also to enter the yarn competition. Why? Just because here in the bottom of the world where i am is so dificult to get “international” yarn ;) Thank you again!
