I have only seen one other finished pair (by sockpron, Aija). Her's are really cool as well! I'm not sure why people shy away from this pattern other than your ideas. I'm all for stranded knitting & I have this in my queue but my man reason for waiting is trying to decide on the right yarn/color combo! Your sock looks great!
